Spiral Blue Commission

Produced a short 50-second looping promotional video for the space company Spiral Blue using virtual production and animation. I worked with a videographer to expedite this production to finished in under two weeks. For this project, I primarily created two film sets as well as modeled the company's product, a satellite, for use in 3D rendering.

The first set featured the company's satellite in earth orbit. The satellite was animated to fire a LiDAR beam down at the earth.

The second set was a mock LiDAR scanned forest which would switch between a raw LiDAR point render and a representative virtual forest. We filmed on this set using Virtual Reality, including a handheld virtual camera and a body actor acting in real-time.

Additionally, I created an animation sequence to show a forest being scanned by LiDAR from an aerial view.

During this project, I also developed a tool which produced point cloud data from a Unity Scene and rendered this data for use in VFX.
